Grade 10 Enriched English Class at the University of Waterloo

Posted on Updated on

As in first semester, the Grade 10 Enriched English class enjoyed a great day at the University of Waterloo – organized by Dr. Jay Dolmage of the Department of English Language and Literature.  With weather on our side, we toured the campus experiencing a walk-about from building to building. A second tour took us to the Dana Porter Library where the students got a chance to look at artifacts and meander through the stacks of books.  The tour was conducted by Nancy Collins, Liaison Librarian for English, Drama and Speech Communication, and Fine Arts.

The lecture was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The professor was Dr. Andrew Deman, whose interests include the comic book hero:  https://uwaterloo.ca/english/people-profiles/andrew-deman

More of his work can be seen on the English Department blog:

We rounded out our day with a tour of St. Jerome’s – complete with cookies and hot chocolate. Terrific!
